From trainer Jay Westerbur:
Week 6 with #dakotashowdownteamonyx
We put in a good shift this week.
- Sending over and around obstacles (poles, barrels, and the bridge)
- Started working on yielding hind and forequarters
- Getting groomed with a curry comb
- Starting to understand the “foot” cue
- Me scratching him all over
He has started to stop and think about scary things (most of the time, sometimes stuff is over his threshold). I was moving a jump standard across the arena (to use as my tripod lol) and he watched me from afar. Once I set it down to get it in position, he came over to check it out. I still had to move it so that it was in a good position to hold my phone, so he definitely didn’t like that. But once I backed away, he came to check it out by himself (with a couple snorts)! Once he checked it out he came back over to me.
