Alex is getting along with the others a lot better now. I introduced some activeness to our session today. Instead of just cuddles and treats I also asked him for a walk, trot, and lope. He picked up my ques fast and was even stopping and turning inwards to me. I've also been gradually petting him more on his neck and shoulder when he allows.
