Team Frannie April 19, 2026 - Update!

From Trainer Beth Stahlecker:

Welcome little Frannie!

We brought home this 3 year old mustang last weekend and she settled in right away. I was able to get her halter on for the first time before we even left Gentle Spirits, so that puts us weeks ahead of our previous showdown challenges! Probably because she's a mare

I haven't been able to spend much time with her (I've got a high school senior and freshman so the next month or so will be pretty busy) but I was able to put a halter on a couple times. She is friendly and curious but needs to learn how to interact with humans. I'll be honest, I don't have a lot of experience with friendly horses! Nearly all of the ones I work with have some issues and baggage. It's a new challenge I'm looking forward to!

She is petite. But loves to eat, so I hope she'll grow some more. She may make an excellent kids horse. I also really appreciate mustangs "street smarts". Even though she'd never had grain (and is still figuring out treats) she immediately found a bucket when it was grain time. That's what everyone else was doing so she just went along with the crowd.

Atticus was hoping to move up the totem pole or at least have one dang horse respect his pinned ears but not this time It's okay Atticus, we can't all be boss mares
Frannie will be available for adoption at the Dakota Showdown Finale on August 23, 2026 in Lennox, South Dakota. Check out http://dakotashowdown.com for more info.
