Frannie and Beth will train together as part of the Dakota Showdown Horse Trainer Challenge!

For the second year in a row, our Foundation Division is full of BLM Mustangs! The first team we want to introduce is returning trainer, and last year's Foundation Champion Beth Stahlecker with 3-yr-old mare Frannie. Beth shares that she is excited to be back for her 3rd year and looking forward to working with another mustang! She lives and works in NW Iowa and has a small collection of rescue horses. She stresses that she's not a professional, but does some training, farrier work and lessons on the side, and really enjoys the challenge of working with unhandled horses. Her favorite part of the Trainer Challenge is what the horse can teach her, and meeting all the talented trainers and horses.

Frannie came from the Elm Creek Holding Facility just two weeks ago, where she made contact with Nina and even wanted a hug. Being friendly and curious is a great first step and we predict she will learn lots of new things this summer and be ready for a home in August. Frannie is currently on the smaller side, but with her cute looks and great personalilt has a bright future ahead of her.

Over the next four months, Frannie and Beth will train together as part of the Dakota Showdown Horse Trainer Challenge. Frannie will be available for adoption at the Finale on August 23, 2026 in Lennox, SD.
