One thing we've learned in the Dakota Showdown is sometimes you can have a great trainer and a good horse but the match just isn't quite right. Sometimes something as simple as changing the environment, trainer and methods can make a huge difference - and that doesn't mean either the original trainer or horse is wrong, just that the match didn't work. It takes a responsible and selfless trainer to reach out and ask for help! It is the same for adopters, too.
Smokey is showing great progress since switching trainers, and we are very hopeful that he'll be ready for a home on August 25. Kaylee now has 3 Showdown horses in her care.
