New this year is the Long Haul division - horses who need a bit more time and aren't ready for the stress imposed by a 100 day deadline. Kodi is one of them with the goal to be adopted or featured at NEXT year's Dakota Showdown. With less stress, the trainer can take their time and really work with some of the bigger problems.
Kodi is with Kaylee Peel who is also competing with Lucy in the Foundation Division his year. Kaylee specifically requested horses with a few more challenges as she is getting more and more requests from cliens to work with challenging horses, and the Showdown is giving her the opportunity to help a couple of difficult horses but also learn what she's comfortable with for her clients. We love that aspect of the Showdown!
